Financial Giving
Storehouse was set up in 2006 by Kingdom Vineyard church, and from the outside it might look like a fairly simple operation: we receive food and give out food! But, over the years, we’ve experienced that it takes a lot of time, money and heart to make sure that Storehouse is a safe, welcoming and resourced place for those in need to get support.
At our most basic level, we exist to provide emergency food provision to those in need, but our heart is to see the transformation of people’s lives. This value informs all levels of our operations and decision making. It means that alongside food provision, we connect clients with other support services in the local area, and we provide spaces for clients to meet, talk and connect.
All of this is made possible by what goes on “behind the scenes”: the recruiting and training volunteers, writing and maintaining policies & procedures to ensure everyone's safety, building relationships with partner agencies, maintaining the spaces we use and our food supply, applying for funding, managing our social media, developing the ways we support clients, working with our supporters…and so on!
We ran the numbers and it costs approximately £750 per week to run Storehouse, including rent, salary and catering. That adds up to just under £40,000 a year! This makes all of the above possible.
We believe in this work and we see the difference it makes in people's lives. What might you be able to give towards this? How could you get involved?
Ways to Give
Regular Giving
Regular giving helps us to run in a sustainable way, such as when it comes to managing budgets for existing and new projects. Even a small amount every month makes a difference! Details on how to give can be found at the bottom of the page.
One-off Giving
If a one-off gift is something that would work better for you, we’d be super grateful! Details on how to give can be found at the bottom of the page.
Fundraising
Have you ever thought about fundraising for Storehouse? This could be a sponsored walk or run, maybe a cake sale, or perhaps you’re a local business who would like to support us? Last year, a local group of students arranged a promise auction. Another local boy sold homemade lemonade outside his house. You can get creative! We’d love to hear about what you get up to and we’d love to provide you with resources to help your fundraising, so please get in touch.
